Marshall elabor tres hiptesis, an no confirmadas:[3] El varn sentado sera el dios hinduista Shiva. But while it is commonly available in cities throughout the world and almost everyone has heard of it, yoga still remains something of a mystery to people who have never tried it. That's because it resists an easy definition.
Yoga is a diverse and diffuse practice with numerous threads that can be interwoven in many ways. Complicating matters further, the term yoga has been in use for several thousands of years and has shifted meanings many times. To start to unpack what contemporary yoga is, let's take a look at yoga's evolution and how it is practiced today. Defining Yoga The word yoga comes from Sanskrit--an ancient Indian language. It is a derivation of the word yuj, which means to yoke, as in harnessing togethera team of oxen. Today, it is often interpreted to mean union. Yoga is said to be for the purpose of uniting the mind, body, and spirit. Most modern yoga practices rely heavily on The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, a series of aphorisms written c. 250 CE, as the basis for their philosophies. The Yoga Sutras specify eight "limbs" of yoga. The three most commonly practiced limbs are pranayama (breathing exercises), meditation, and asana. Asana is what most of us have come to know simply as yoga, the physical poses. So what should youexpect when you head to a yoga class? While meditation and breathing exercises may be included, asana has assumed a primary role in most types of contemporary practice. Some classes may also include chanting or an inspirational reading, depending on the individual teacher and the yoga style. Generally, yoga classes at a gym or health club will focus primarily on the physical aspects of the practice, while people who want a more spiritual approach are more likely to find it at specialized studios. Types of Yoga The origins of today's most popular types of yogacan be traced back to one man,T. Krishnamacharya. Through his three most prominent students, yoga, as we know it, was disseminated to the west: From Pattabhi Jois, we got Ashtanga Yoga--which is responsible for the vinyasa flow style that is now so prevalent--as well as the method of working on the same exact series of poses repeatedly over time. From B.K.S. Iyengar, we got the concept of alignment--meaning that there is an ideal way of doing each pose--and the introduction of the now-standard props to help us safelyreach this ideal. From Krishnamacharya's son, T.K.V. Desikachar, we got the idea that when yoga is individualized to each person's needs and abilities, it can be curative, which has, in turn, led to the emergence of yoga therapy as a form of alternative medicine. With so many types of yoga, it can be daunting to pick the right one. Thischeat sheet covers 20 popular styles (including Bikram/hot yoga, power yoga, and Kundalini) to help you narrow down the field. But there is usually a bit of trial and error involved too. You may find the best yoga class on the first try, but you may also need to shop around and try different things until you find the one that feels right. Yoga Poses Many people think thatyoga is just stretching. But while stretching is certainly involved, yoga is really about creating balance in the body through developing both strength and flexibility. This is done through the performance of postures, each of which has specific physical benefits. The poses can be done quickly in succession, creating heat in the body through movement (vinyasa-style yoga) or more slowly to increase stamina and perfect the alignment of each pose. They can be done in a hot room, on a rooftop, in a gym, or even on a paddle board. Also, poses area constant--linking together the disparate branches of the yoga family tree. The amazing thing about yoga is that although the poses themselves do not change, your relationship to them will.Your practice is always evolving, so it never gets boring. Poses fall under broad headings, although there is plenty of overlap: Health Benefits Doing yoga is good for your health in innumerable ways. Many of them are connected to yoga's proven ability to reduce stress. So many ailments are caused or exacerbated by stress: heart disease, insomnia, headaches, depression, diabetes, IBS, infertility--the list goes on. And this is before we even consider the physical benefits of greater strength (core strength in particular), flexibility, and balance. Yoga also fosters mental calmness, clarity, and self-acceptance, giving you the tools to combat anxiety and feelings of inadequacy. Is there anything yoga can't do? Well, it won't increase your height, but it can improve your posture so you stand taller. Who Can Do Yoga? Forget any stereotype you might have in your head of what a "yoga person" looks like because anyone can do yoga. That includes men, seniors, children, pregnant women, people with bigger bodies, people with arthritis, and so on. If you have a body, you can do yoga. If you are not at all flexible that doesn't mean you can't do yoga. It means you can and you should.Yoga is not a sport that you need to have trained for since childhood. It's not a competition where the bendiest person gets a prize. It's not even something you can be "good at" or "bad at" because there is no final goal to achieve, nothing to accomplish. The people on the covers of yoga magazines and the most famous teachers are not any better at yoga than the rest of us.One of the most difficult, but ultimately most liberating things about yoga is letting go of the ego and accepting that no one is better than anyone else. Everyone is just doing their best on any given day. Getting Started So now that we've taken the veil off a bit and convinced you that you can do yoga, how do you follow through and actually get started? The easiest thing you can do is find a class nearby and go to it. It needs to be convenient to your home or work so that getting there is not a chore. And it should be a class for beginners. Once you get your butt on a mat in a classroom, the yoga becomes inevitable. Though it is possible to do yoga at home (and many people do) it's not an ideal way to start. Taking classes with an experienced teacher gets you going on the right foot so that you begin to understand the fundamentals of alignment and avoid injury. Eventually, you may find thatyoga at home is more convenient and affordable. There are lots of great ways to yoga practice at home once you feel ready. A Word From Verywell If you're still nervous, remember that everyone who does yoga was once a beginner. The sooner you start, the sooner you'll discover its wonderful benefits, chief among which is that doing yoga makes you feel amazing. Yoga is a lifelong practice that will help you stay healthy for years to come. https://www.verywell.com/yoga-4014625 Average:

"These results are consistent with a growing body of research in adults that has found mindfulness meditation to be a helpful tool for enhancing working memory capacity," said Kristen E. Jastrowski Mano of the psychology department at the University of Cincinnati, who coauthored the new study. The researchers randomly divided 198 public middle school students into three groups: mindfulness meditation, hatha yoga or a waitlist. Most students were female, ages 12 to 15, and from low-income households that qualified for reduced-cost lunch. Before the study began and after it ended, the students completed computer-based memory assessments and reported their stress and anxiety levels via questionnaires. The meditation and yoga groups met for 45 minutes twice a week, for four weeks. In addition, students logged their home practice in journals that were collected each week. Two trained mindfulness instructors led the meditation group in breathing techniques, formal meditation and discussion using written scripts with instructions on sitting posture, breathing and wandering thoughts. Students were encouraged to take CDs with meditation audio recordings and use them for 15 to 30 minutes daily at home. The yoga sessions were structured similarly, with trained instructors focusing on breathing, yoga poses and discussion. The kids in this group were also encouraged to practice at home daily using a DVD with yoga lessons. Memory scores increased in the mindfulness meditation group by the end of the study, while they did not change in the yoga or waitlist groups, the authors reported in the Journal of Adolescent Health. Perceived stress and anxiety decreased in all three groups over time. "Working memory is often conceptualized as being a 'mental workbench' that allows a person to keep information in mind long enough for reasoning and comprehension to occur," Jastrowski Mano told Reuters Health by email. "It is involved in helping the brain shift information from short-term memory to long-term memory." Working memory is involved in many aspects of learning, like reasoning ability, mathematical problem solving, and reading comprehension, she said. "Theoretical and experimental research suggests that mindfulness meditation is associated with changes in neural pathways and may be particularly effective in promoting executive functioning," Jastrowski Mano said. "The practice of meditation - which requires sustained attention while simultaneously redirecting attention back to the current experience - is closely related to Power yoga video the function of working memory." Some of the benefit of the meditation sessions may come from the relationships the teens build with the instructors, said Gina Biegel, a private practice psychotherapist in San Francisco who was not part of the new study. "These youth are not getting a lot of attention from chaotic home environments," Biegel told Reuters Health by email. "People in the mindfulness community are compassionate and respectful and create a relationship they don't get elsewhere." Present moment awareness and focus exercises can be helpful too, as teens are often multitasking with homework, mobile devices, music and friends, she said. Teens may want to consider mindfulness meditation for more than just the potential benefit of improving working memory capacity, Jastrowski Mano said, as there is growing evidence that youth experience many different physical and psychological benefits. "But more research is definitely needed to figure out which adolescents benefit the most from mindfulness meditation, and in what ways," she said, and she and her coauthors are cautious about making broad recommendations to schools. "That said, many schools are very enthusiastic about and open to integrating mindfulness practices into their schools, so it is certainly something worth considering," she said. http://www.foxnews.com/health/2015/11/18/mindfulness-meditation-may-improve-memory-for-teens.html Computer Expert that Stopped 'WannaCry' Global Cyberattack Arrested for Prior Cybercrimes - Breitbart
The computer expert who managed to stop the WannaCry global cyberattack faces 40 years in jail over accusations he helped develop malicious software in 2014. Marcus Hutchins, a 22-year-old man from England, was arrested at the Def Con hacking conference in Las Vegas last week on charges he helped to create and sell a malware tool that targeted bank accounts. advertisement "Hutchins, who was at a hacking conference in Las Vegas when he was arrested by the FBI, faces six counts of helping to create, spread and maintain the banking trojan Kronos between 2014 and 2015," reported the Telegraph on Friday. "According to the US Department of Justice indictment, the alleged offenses took place between July 2014 and July 2015. Hutchins was jointly yoga for weight loss charged with another individual who was not named. The indictment alleged that Hutchins 'created the Kronos malware' and the other person later sold it for $2,000 (?1,500) online." Hutchins was heralded as a hero after he managed to stop the WannaCry global cyberattack, which took place in May and targeted both private and public organizations, including the United Kingdom's National Healthcare Service. "The maximum statutory sentence he could face is decades, roughly 40 years," claimed cyber criminal lawyer Tor Ekeland. "Would he get that? I doubt it, it would be a bizarre outcome. Is it possible? It sure is." "The main thing to do now is enter a not guilty plea as soon as you can, get him out on bail, and then you've got some breathing room," continued Ekeland. "There's not a single allegation that he made any money or anybody came to any harm from it. The indictment is very thin. It's legally bizarre and there's little detail." Pharmaceuticals may help the symptoms, but they can also have negative side effects like weight gain and decreased sexual desire that may cause people to abandon medication altogether. As cases of depression and anxiety increase throughout the world, research is being conducted to find more sustainable and accessible treatments.
"Despite modern advances in psychopharmacology, and the development of so many integrative forms of psychotherapy, we haven't made a significant dent in this epidemic of emotional illness," says clinical psychologist and yoga teacher Bo Forbes. Forbes is the founder of Integrative Yoga Therapeutics, a system that specializes in the therapeutic application of yoga for anxiety, insomnia, depression, immune disorders, chronic pain, and physical injuries, as well as athletic performance. She is currently participating in research with neuroscientists Dave Vago and Norman Farb at the Mind & Life Institute to examine the effect of yoga on anxiety and depression. "Most people aren't aware that inside each of us, there's a mind-body communications network that contributes to the patterns of anxiety and depression. This network includes the autonomic nervous system, the enteric nervous system (also called the belly brain or gut microbiome), the immune system, pain modulation pathways, connective tissue matrix, and more," Forbes explains. To really effect change, Forbes says we need to access this mind-body network and change patterns in these bodily systems. Anxiety disorders, including depression and post-traumatic stress disorder, are the most common mental illness in the United States, affecting about 40 million adults. If current trends continue, it's estimated that by the year 2020, depression will be the second leading cause of disability throughout the world. A significant amount of research has been conducted on yoga as a therapeutic tool, and evidence supports the findings that yoga can help treat depression and anxiety. Forbes, along with neuroscientists Vago and Farb, are delving deeper into this field of study by exploring what Forbes calls one of the most compelling and emerging areas of neuroscience: interoception. "You can think of interoceptive awareness, as it's also called, as mindfulness in the body. It pertains to the ability to inhabit the body and be present with bodily sensation as it fluctuates from one moment to the next," says Forbes. According to Forbes, because depression and anxiety are diseases in which people experience being stuck in a cycle of negative self-talk, obsessive rumination on the past or anxiety about the future, physical exercises that increase awareness of sensations arising from within the physical body can help people heal. "If you change your body patterns, you can change your mind," she says. Forbes believes that interoception may be a doorway to healing many anxiety disorders, and her therapeutic yoga classes incorporate practices to strengthen this quality. With the aim of awareness in mind, Forbes' classes are not like the typical hot, sweaty Westernized form of yoga that many of us have experienced. Her classes move slowly and are geared toward increasing awareness inside the body. They integrate breath with each movement. Participants in Bo Forbes' yoga, mindfulness and neuroscience workshop at the Yoga Journal Conference in New York, April 27, 2015. Parvati Shallow/CBS News Additionally, because tension in our muscles and connective tissue, or fascia, amplifies nervous system activation, she incorporates bodywork that releases connective tissue and gives people an experience of 'not depression' and 'not anxiety'. While working on connective tissue exercises, Forbes uses specific questions and cues that serve to increase a person's awareness of the sensations in his or her body. For example, her class may begin by standing on a tennis ball and rolling the base of your foot with medium to strong pressure over the ball. This exercise massages connective tissue, stimulates the relaxation response and calms the heart. After completing this exercise, Forbes asks people to check in with their bodies. "What is the quality of my mind right now? How deep is my breath? Does one foot feel a different sense of freedom than another foot?" she asks. The idea of interoception having a therapeutic effect on depression and anxiety is relatively new, with most of the research being published in just the last few years. Because this research is still in its early stages, there is much more work to be done to establish interoception's significance as a treatment modality for depression and anxiety. Until then, Forbes says to try experimenting with your own body, using yoga and connective tissue release to find what helps you over time. "Follow the laboratory of your direct experience, and it will take you somewhere. It will teach you," she says. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/is-it-possible-to-heal-depression-and-anxiety-with-yoga/ Yeast infections gone untreated can become very severe and serious. Severe yeast infections can caused by another disease or condition (like HIV) but in most cases, it's just a normal yeast infection gone awry. If you worried about a major disease affecting your severe yeast infection or if you get yeast infections a lot, you should see a doctor for testing. Otherwise, good news is you can get rid of your yeast infection quite fast and easy. Candida albicans (or the common yeast infection) is a family of fungi.
While candida is found naturally in your body and pose absolutely no harm, yeast overgrowth can lead to major problems in your body if gone untreated. If you want to avoid a severe condition, you need to take yeast infection medicine right away. Yeast infections can be found in a variety of places on your body. Most commonly found in the genital area or commonly known as a vaginal yeast infection, yeast infections can also be found in other areas of your body that are dark and moist. Some of those places are the undersides of your breasts, mouth, underarms, and belly. Severe yeast infections are quite obvious to the sufferer. If your stomach is infected by yeast, you can get a condition known as a "leaky gut". Basically what happens is the fungi grows like crazy in your stomach and intestines. They eventually pierce the walls of your intestines and cause lots of damage and pain. So, yeast infections in the stomach area are considered by most experts as the most worse of severe yeast infections. The problem with severe yeast infections is in a lot of cases, the victim does not even though they have one. Often, they go to the doctor's for the symptoms they are having and doctor has no clue what is causing them. They give you the wrong medication because they suspect another condition which will do absolutely nothing to heal their yeast infection. So, the victim of the severe yeast infection continues to feel major pain and other symptoms and their doctor has no idea what is going on. If you think you are having a yeast infection affecting your gut, you can undertake a variety of self-treatments to fix it. There are some easy, natural treatments for severe yeast infections you can do. You can provide yourself some real relief and sometimes cure your yeast infection in your stomach with a simple diet change. First, stop eating foods that "feed" the yeast infection. Fungi love sugary and fatty foods. Skipping those foods can greatly reduce the growth of yeast. Next, start eating green leafy vegetables along with foods high in alkaline. These foods naturally fight yeast infections and will start reducing candida in your body. Another form of severe yeast infections are ones found in the vagina. Vaginal yeast infections impact millions of women and with the right treatments can be get rid of easily. While there can be many reasons why you can get a vaginal yeast infection, if you get them a lot, it can be due to a chronic disease. Diabetes, HIV/AIDS, and other diseases can cause you to get a lot of yeast infections. A doctor or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9FTsbiI9Sw health professional can help you discover the cause if you get chronic severe yeast infections. A cure for a vaginal yeast infection can come in a variety of forms and when followed correctly can fix your problem. http://www.infobarrel.com/Cure_Severe_Yeast_Infections_Now Some natural home remedies have truth to them.
STORY HIGHLIGHTS Medical experts weigh in on the Internet's most popular home curesYogurt doesn't cure yeast infests, nor does black tea bags help cold sores disappearSome oils, herbs and juices can help treat your ailments (Health.com) -- Will placing a tea bag on a cold sore make it disappear? Can you ease hot flashes with herbs? And does putting yogurt on your nether parts have a prayer of curing a yeast infection? It used to be that you'd hear about these kinds of home remedies from your mom. These days, they're touted on websites, blogs, and online forums. In fact, 61 percent of American adults turn to the Internet to find help in treating what's ailing them, a 2009 study reveals. But do these natural moves actually work ... and, just as important, could they do more harm than good? Health asked medical experts to weigh in on the Internet's most popular home cures. The online claim: Yogurt can stop a yeast infection Is it true? No Yeast infections -- and their symptoms, from intense vaginal itchiness to cottage cheese-like discharge -- are caused by an overgrowth of the fungus candida. Because studies show that yogurt can promote the growth of healthier strains of bacteria in the stomach and intestines, people have long assumed it might also keep candida in check. And that rumor keeps circulating, thanks to the Internet. Unfortunately, "no study shows conclusively that eating yogurt cures or even lessens the severity of yeast infections," says Michele G. Curtis, M.D., professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Neither will douching with yogurt, or (yikes!) dipping a tampon in the stuff, freezing it, and inserting it -- a remedy suggested on some websites. In fact, douching can cause yeast infections, Curtis says, especially if you're using yogurt; its sugars could actually help yeast grow. If you're sure you have a yeast infection, based on a past experience, Curtis recommends using an over-the-counter medication, such as Monistat. But, she points out, "everything that itches is not yeast!" So see your gyno when in doubt: That itching might actually be bacterial vaginosis, for instance, which requires treatment with antibiotics. Health.com: Is vaginal grooming safe? The online claim: Black cohosh eases hot flashes Is it true? Yes Commonly known as bugwort or rattle root, this herb is derived from a plant called Actaea racemosa. While it may sound like something from Harry Potter's wizarding world, this remedy is not all hocus-pocus: Some studies suggest that black cohosh may indeed reduce hot flashes, according to guidelines re-released last year by the American College of Obstetricians natural cure for yeast infection and Gynecologists. "It appears to have an anti-inflammatory effect," says Philip Hagen, M.D., co-editor of the "Mayo Clinic Book of Home Remedies." In fact, the herb is often prescribed in Europe; it's a key ingredient in Remifemin, a popular drug there, which is also available in the United States. While U.S. studies haven't conclusively proven that black cohosh works, Curtis says it can't hurt to try the herb -- just consult with your doctor about the dosage first, and stick with it for 12 weeks, she says. (Make sure you're getting black cohosh, not blue cohosh, which could potentially be harmful, she adds.) Health.com: Can supplements ease menopause symptoms? The online claim: Pop calcium pills to quell PMS cramps Is it true? Yes Since there's scientific evidence that PMS sufferers have lower levels of calcium in their blood, it's not a stretch to think that loading up on it would ease the cramps, headaches, and bloating that come at that time of the month. Indeed, research has shown that taking 600 milligrams of calcium twice a day can reduce PMS symptoms. And getting the nutrient in your food (such as calcium-packed dairy) may keep them at bay altogether: In a recent study conducted at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, women who consumed four servings a day of skim or low-fat milk reduced their risk of developing PMS by 46%. Note: Some women's cramps are so severe that only prescription medication can curb them, Curtis says. So if calcium doesn't make a difference with yours, see your doctor. Health.com: 10 ways to get rid of PMS The online claim: Tea tree oil can zap your zits Is it true? Maybe One brand of tea tree oil sold online is dubbed "Pure Liquid Gold," and it just may be, at least in the case of acne. A study published in the British Journal of Dermatology found that applying the extract to pimples reduced inflammation. "Tea tree oil is antifungal and antibacterial," says Debra Jaliman, M.D., a New York City-based dermatologist. "It's so effective that many of my patients prefer it to benzoyl peroxide." Other experts are not so keen. "The oil can cause rashes and even blistering," warns Jerome Z. Litt, M.D., assistant clinical professor of dermatology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland and the author of "Your Skin from A to Z." If you're nervous about using tea tree oil, Jaliman says, instead try a face wash for oily skin that contains salicylic or glycolic acid. Health.com: Get flawless skin naturally The online claim: Steam clears up sinus headaches Is it true? Yes This old-school treatment -- touted in more than 400,000 Google results! -- really works. "Inhaling steam flushes out your nasal passages, relieving sinus pressure," explains Neil Kao, M.D., head of research at the Allergic Disease and Asthma Center in Greenville, South Carolina. Add a few drops of peppermint or eucalyptus oil to make it more potent. "The minty smell causes a tingling sensation in the nasal membrane, and this has a decongestant effect," says Kao, who also suggests dabbing Vicks VapoRub at the lower rim of your nostrils. Another natural alternative: Using a neti pot to irrigate the nostrils with saline solution, which can also ease sinus symptoms, according to one study. Health.com: 10 products to help you find sinus relief The online claim: Black tea bags help cold sores disappear Is it true? No If left alone, cold sores usually clear up in a few weeks -- but who wants to wait? Online remedies for the blisters range from the absurd (like earwax) to the less silly, like placing a damp black tea bag on the sore. "Black tea leaves have tannins, compounds that may inhibit the growth of viruses and bacteria, but no studies have verified this," Hagen says. Tea bags may also have an anti-inflammatory effect, he says. But your best bet to shorten healing time is an OTC treatment like Abreva or a prescription med like Valtrex. To prevent sores from popping up, stay out of the sun, and use a high-SPF sunscreen around your lips: "Sun-light can trigger cold sores if you're prone to them," Hagen says. Health.com: The healing power of tea The online claim: Drinking cranberry juice prevents UTIs Is it true? Yes This popular home cure isn't just an old wives' tale: Major medical institutions, including the National Institutes of Health, agree that drinking cranberry juice can be effective for treating urinary tract infections (UTIs). "The berries contain proanthocyanidins, which keep E. coli from attaching to the bladder wall and causing an infection," Hagen says. If you're prone to UTIs, drink one to two glasses of cranberry juice daily to help prevent them. Doing so also works when you have symptoms -- like a constant need to pee, or a burning sensation when you do -- to speed recovery. (There's also evidence that peeing immediately after sex can help prevent UTIs by flushing out bacteria.) Stick to juice that's at least 20% pure cranberry -- or try supplements, taking up to six 400-milligram pills twice a day an hour before or two hours after a meal. If your symptoms don't end within 24 to 48 hours, see your physician -- especially if you have a fever or chills. "That points to something serious," Hagen says, "and means you should not be messing with a home remedy."
